Plans of Service

Speech/Language Services can be provided through different plans depending on the type and severity of a communication disorder.

Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) IDEA 2004:   Is a plan or program developed to ensure that a school aged child, who has an identified  communication disability,  can receive specialized instruction or related services.  The plan provides  goals, objectives, services and accomodations for  a student.  

504 plan Section 504 Rehabilitation Act of 1973:   Is a plan developed to ensure that a child who has an identified communication disability,  and is attending an elementary or secondary,  school receives accomodations and support services that will ensure  academic success and access to the learning environment.  They do not necessarily need specialized instruction.

ICAP (Indivual Curriculum Accomodation Plan) Massachusetts General Law Chapter 71 Section 71, Section 38Q1/2  A plan to provide services and accomodations in order to support regular educational services for students with  communication differences.

Consultation Services:  A Speech-Language Pathologist is available for  consultation services to the classroom teacher and parents regarding comunication issues for all students in the West BridgewaterPublic Schools.
