The following Apps can be used to work on a variety of speech/language/educational issues: Toca Boca offers a variety of apps that promote communication skills at the preschool/kindergarten levels. The students love to use Toca Boca Tea Party and Toca Boca Train! Peekaboo Barn by Night & Day Studios is a great app for preschool students. The child touches the barn door and a farm animal appears! The app is great for vocabulary development and basic cause/effect skills. Night & Days Studios also have other variations on this app like Peekaboo Sesame My Playhome is a dollhouse app. Children can move the "dolls" around the house and yard. this app is great to promote expressive and receptive language skills. ArticPix is an articulation app to work on producing speech sounds correctly. This app has good pictures that depict sounds in all positions of words. Speech Sounds is an app that shows a video of actual sounds being produced. This app also provides pictures for practicing sounds. Hooked on Phonics is an app that provides simple stories that focus on particular phonics skills. ABC Mouse is another app that focuses on phonic skills Butterfly Math focuses on early counting skills and simple addition/subtraction facts. Splash Math is based on the Common Core and has activities for every grade.
